DESIGN: I HEART COFFEEHOUSE
Coffeehouse is celebrating the greatest city in the world.
I HEART COFFEEHOUSE
It’ll always be New York or nowhere.
The direct sequel to “Christmas Coffeehouse: Under the Tree,” I Heart Coffeehouse is Liberty University’s Spring Coffeehouse production themed around the Big Apple. Musicians, dancers, or even ventriloquists can shoot their shot to be included in the show, ideally featuring songs like “Welcome to New York” or the opening jazz number from “Saturday Night Live.”
Deeper than the sights and sounds of New York City is the bustling feverishness that marks the city’s day-to-day operations. Millions of people are figuring out their lives right here on sidewalks and subways- building careers, creating art, falling in love, caring for families. Each business, each building, and each block has its own story to tell. The overarching message of all of them? We’re all in it together- learning, working, growing.
I Heart Coffeehouse required a brand that brings these two sides of New York City together. It’s scenic and historic, sure, but also messy and spontaneous.
When I began the brand, I started with a messy subway map- not immune from scribbles of graffiti. I built upon that with stickers (like you’d find on a street signpost) of New York Iconography.
The show takes place in March, but is expected to fill a 7,000+ seat arena in attendance. Welcome to New York; it’s been waiting for you.
